At Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill, we take immense pleasure in serving the many customers of Kailua-Kona who come to us for delicious, daring flavors and a wonderful selection of fresh local seafoods.

Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill is located in downtown of Kailua-Kona. We offer lunch and dinner seven days a week, with a few exceptions for holidays.

The idea for Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill was born out of a love for food, first and foremost. The owner,  Chef Nakoa Pabre, has traveled the world and sampled some of the planet’s finest flavors.  Starting in 2015, we brought that love of local seafood and other food fusions to fruition with the opening of Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill. It is our hope that by combining some of those delicious flavors here at Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill, we will make your nightly dining experience just that much more exciting and better.

And don’t forget the wines and beers!  Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill is also known for its wide selection of wines and beers from around the globe – so whether you like a Chilean variety or an American, French, Italian or local Hawaiian home grown beers, we aim to please.

Umekes LLC Owner/Chef Nakoa Pabre

Head Chef/Owner Nakoa Pabre is a seasoned professional who takes pride in bringing the customers of Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill the freshest, most exciting and varied menus that Kailua-Kona has to offer.  After his extensive training starting his own businesses as he was one of the original owners of the Da Poke Shack but went on to start up Umekes at Ali’i Plaza Kailua-Kona which was a whirlwind of success which includes garnering Chef Pabre with the accolades of being crowned the Prince of Poke by winning overall champion two years in a row at the prestigious annual Sam Choy’s Poke competition 2013 and 2014.  Chef Pabre and Umekes’ Poke dishes have also been featured on TV on the cooking show the Food Channel with Chef Choy and Chef Garmin.   With his creative yet consistent menus that aims to please people from all walks of life, Chef Pabre and his culinary team has made Umekes Fishmarket Bar and Grill what it is today.
